Agile Alliance Managing Director Phil Brock to Depart Organization

After many years of guiding Agile Alliance as its Managing director, Phil Brock has advised the Agile Alliance Board of Directors that he will be leaving the organization in August 2020.

Phil Brock, Agile Alliance

Personally, I am saddened to be making this announcement. Having seen the organization from close up as a board member over the past 4 years, I am incredibly grateful for the commitment, enthusiasm, and devotion that Phil has dedicated to our organization. He helped build Agile Alliance and led a team that has created world-class global events. During his time as Managing Director, Agile Alliance has grown to 73,000+ members and subscribers around the world. The Agile community at large has benefited from his leadership and I thank him for a remarkable 15 years.

While the Board of Directors undertakes a search for a new leader for the organization, I am honored to be appointed to serve as the interim Managing Director. Phil will remain with Agile Alliance through the next two months and we will work closely together to ensure a smooth transition. I will remain a member of the board of directors, but I will be stepping down as chair of the board. Consequently, Paul Hammond has been elected chair of the board for the remainder of the 2020 term.

Despite all the havoc that 2020 has wrought, what isn’t changing is Agile Alliance’s focus on creating spaces to explore, innovate, and advance Agile values and principles across industries and around the globe. During my time as interim Managing Director, I’m looking forward to contributing to a great team in creating events and other ways for us to connect, share ideas, and learn from each other about how to work together when it’s hard to predict what will come next. Times of great change can also provide great opportunities for new things to emerge. I am confident that some of the new and surprising things that will emerge from this turbulent year will be good.
