Abstract/Description

Stop using data as a weapon against your own people!! We’ve all heard at conferences, at meetups, and in books how important it is to collect data and make data-driven decisions. As a result we’re collecting velocity numbers and story counts, lead times and wait times, leading and lagging metrics. We’re asked for trend analyses and year-over-year growth comparisons …and we’ve reduced our people to numbers. We’re unintentionally (sometimes) pitting teams against each other and creating unhealthy working environments. I’ll introduce techniques for reintroducing respect for people into your processes, show a few methods for creating zones for Psychological Safety, and demonstrate how to unlock Intrinsic Motivation through a change in approach.

NOTE: This talk is not is not about coaching the Agile techniques themselves, but instead about how to design a transformational journey for your teams.
