If you ever meet a data scientist, odds are you are meeting a very happy person.

Data science is one of the fastest growing facets of the tech world, and the benefits and jobs on offer make it clear why. Data science jobs are known for their high starting salaries, high job satisfaction, and a high level of demand.

Among various metrics (our own, LinkedIn’s, and the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics), data science is currently one of the most in-demand jobs in the U.S. and there’s no end in sight. In particular, machine learning engineer is considered a a top five emerging tech job this year. Plus, few similarly growing jobs can match a data scientist’s comparatively high entry-level salary.

Not only are data scientists and other people in big data enjoying some of the best fundamentals when it comes to what makes a great job, the best, most forward-looking companies in the world are the ones hiring.

Who are those companies hiring data scientists?

Thanks to a report by Diffbot on staffing at the world’s top tech companies, we know which companies are hiring the most data scientists as well as other roles closely associated with the profession and the skillset needed to be a data scientist.

Let’s dig into the report and find out which 10 companies are hiring the most data science employees in 2022.

What companies are hiring data scientists?

1. Accenture

63,206 data employees

Shooting up the list this year is Accenture, an Irish-based company with offices across the world. It makes sense that the company staffing the most data scientists is an information technology (IT) company.

One of the biggest reasons for this change is Accenture’s growth over the last few years. Since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, Accenture has acquired 11 different companies in various countries across the globe, including cybersecurity companies, cloud computing companies, and other IT firms.

As Accenture further commits to the cloud and continues its focus on IT we can expect to see demand for data scientists continue to grow.

2. Tata Consultancy Services

40,525 data employees

Next up is another IT company, this time it’s India-based Tata Consultancy Services. While founded in India, the company has locations on every continent, including several in United States.

An outlier in this list’s top five, Citigroup is an investment firm that usually provides commercial banking, It’s considered one of the big four of American banking and has had its hand in several industries since its founding.
