Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for Cloud Database Report Recognizes Cloudera as a Visionary

Gartner® recognized Cloudera in three recent reports – Magic Quadrant™ for Cloud Database Management Systems (DBMS), Critical Capabilities for Cloud Database Management Systems for Analytical Use Cases and Critical Capabilities for Cloud Database Management Systems for Operational Use Cases. Our position as a Visionary in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Cloud DBMS market speaks to our product excellence and market-leading-vision of a hybrid, multifunction integrated platform with built-in security and governance.

Gartner evaluated 20 vendors in the Magic Quadrant for Cloud DBMS and the associated Critical Capabilities report. The Critical Capabilities report rated the companies’ core capabilities to support four analytical and four operational use cases. Cloudera Data Platform (CDP) scored among the top 10 vendors on all four Analytical Use Cases — Data Warehouse, Logical Data Warehouse, Data Lake and Operational Intelligence in the Critical Capabilities for Cloud Database Management Systems for Analytics Use Cases. This highlights our technical excellence and ability to deliver on all the analytical use cases through an integrated and end to end unified platform. This was also the first time Cloudera was included in the Critical Capabilities reports for Cloud DBMS Operational Use Cases.

We have been working hard to build our cloud-native data services on Cloudera Data Platform (CDP), which include CDP Data Warehouse, CDP Operational Database, CDP Machine Learning, CDP Data Engineering and CDP Data Flow. These integrated data services provide fit-for-purpose solutions for different data workloads including – advanced analytics, streaming, Machine Learning and transaction processing, which will provide an end to end automated data lifecycle. We continue to strengthen CDP’s security, governance and metadata management enabling customers to safely run complex data workloads spanning multiple clouds (public and/or private). The CDP Data Catalog allows customers to easily discover relevant data, control sensitive information, and track lineage and audit access to build confidence in their data and value wherever and however it’s used. We also continue to build financial governance capabilities that help customers reduce workload costs by providing visibility and monitoring on chargeback and spend analysis with workload evaluation tools.

Customers can seamlessly run workloads across clouds without any overheads or impact on performance, security and scalability. It is gratifying to see Gartner recognize the progress made in less than two years, since the debut of CDP and its cloud-native data services. We were named a Visionary having a strong market understanding and a robust roadmap for the cloud DBMS market. We are also proud of the tremendous progress made in the MQ position along the ability to execute axis, which is a reflection of the trust and confidence our customers are showing in our platform.

CDP’s core design principles focus on providing a pre-integrated solution for a combination of use cases. Our strength lies in a multifunction, hybrid, integrated platform that unifies all of your data and automates the full data lifecycle from edge to AI, in one platform. The platform, its architecture and the use of open source technologies like Apache Hive, Impala, HBase, Phoenix, Spark, Flink and Kafka enable us to offer the best price performance in the market
