Investing in Organizational Structure

We are fortunate enough to be spending time in person with our prospects and customers, in-person engagement is great. The best part by far has been getting in front of our prospects and customers. There is nothing like face-to-face interaction to get a true gauge of the challenges you are experiencing. Through our interactions, I have found that we are all navigating similar obstacles. They include economic uncertainty, disruptive technology, and how to leverage it. I am refreshed by the conversations I have been having. Despite the daily challenges organizations face, I see resilience and an ongoing desire for business transformation.

Sometimes it is hard to see the forest through the trees on the journey to digital transformation. We are finding that organizational structure and leadership support is an essential foundation for successful transformation. Throughout 2023, we have been reviewing and making changes to our leadership as well as organizational structure, particularly as it relates to bolstering our overall strategy and operations. I am pleased to share two internal promotions.

John Schmottlach has been promoted to Chief Strategy Officer. John has been with Apps for 11+ years, and over that time, we have seen tremendous growth and expansion. Hired as an ‘Oracle’ expert, John had the vision and drive to see the opportunity in the Salesforce ecosystem and was the advocate for starting our Salesforce practice several years ago. He was also influential in the addition of non-Oracle technologies in our integration and data and analytics practices, which has helped those practices grow. He drove our entry into Oracle Fusion Applications, which ultimately resulted in Apps Associates being one of the go-to partners for Fusion implementations and a transition from on-prem to SaaS-based ERP systems. John is passionate about Apps and our customers, which shows in his standards of excellence.

I am also pleased to share the promotion of Keith Kerrison to Chief Operating Officer (COO). Keith joined Apps Associates over a year ago as SVP, Delivery. Over the past year, Keith has taken a leadership role beyond delivery. He has partnered with Sales, HR, and Finance to add value for customers and associates as well as to enhance reporting tools. He has done all this while continuing to ensure the success of our customers and associates, personally diving in alongside the team. His calming presence has benefited customers, associates, and partners alike. Most notable for me was how Keith embraced our core values. He embodies the collaborative value and One Apps culture, recognizing the entire team in our successes. He operates with personal integrity and ensures that, as a Company, we carry that integrity to our customers.

We continue to look at opportunities to strengthen and expand the organization and I’m delighted to announce that we recently acquired Emtec’s Oracle Services Division. In addition to adding highly skilled resources to our global team, we also gained deeper expertise in the Healthcare and Energy and Utilities verticals. Apps is committed to being a leading system integrator in identified targeted industries. While we have implemented Oracle solutions for several organizations across these verticals, the Emtec’s Oracle Services Division acquisition greatly increases our experience and capabilities for both Oracle and PeopleSoft.
