Perficient

What is your role? Describe a typical day in the life.

As a Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist, I support various business units including Commerce, Salesforce, Dallas, Houston, and Ohio. I understand the business needs in order to source and recruit viable talent to interview and ultimately join the Perficient team. I’m motivated to find prospective colleagues that not only meet the job qualifications but who will also fit in with our culture. At Perficient, we value our people and treasure talent. I look for experience and cultural fits when searching for the best and brightest to join our team. In simple terms, I help people find jobs!

Whether big or small, how do you make a difference for our clients, colleagues, communities, or teams?

I make a difference through relationships, and in talent acquisition, it’s all about relationships. I connect and build trust with colleagues, communities, and teams through sharing content, asking questions, and relating to others. I try to be personable, relatable, and memorable in exuding what Perficient is all about – and that’s our people!

What are your proudest accomplishments, personally and professionally? Any milestone moments at Perficient?

My proudest accomplishments are my children. I strive to teach them strong core values so they can in turn make a difference in the world.

I’m a “boomerang employee,” meaning I was with Perficient for two years before leaving and returning in 2021. Realizing I should have never left Perficient in the first place was a milestone in my career. Perficient is my home away from home, and it’s where I belong. I take pride in what I do and the accomplishments of my team and colleagues.

What has your experience at Perficient taught you?

My experience at Perficient has taught me that culture is everything. You can have the best title, the best salary, etc., but if the culture is not present, then those things mean nothing. I truly love the culture and people I work with at Perficient.

The conversations I had with the talent acquisition team before making the decision to come back to Perficient solidified why I belong here. Our people make you feel like you have known them for ages and are very inclusive of everyone.

EXPLORE: Perficient’s Culture is Unmatched, Our Expertise is Where We Shine

What advice would you give to colleagues who are starting their career with Perficient?

Immerse yourself in your team and the culture. We spend so much time at work, so it’s important to make it meaningful. I would recommend joining employee resource groups (ERGs) that suit your passions. I am a member of Perficient’s Giving ERG, as well as the Commerce Culture Club and Dallas Charitable Giving Group.

What are you passionate about outside of work?Katie Pic

I’m passionate about giving back. I am the community service outreach coordinator with FIT4MOM Denton County, and I help organize ways to give back to our community on a regular basis. We partner with local organizations and try to make an impact where we can.

What’s something surprising people might not know about you or your background?

I am originally from the Boston area and studied abroad in South Africa! I also love to laugh, and I try not to take everything so seriously. I enjoy a good chuckle, which helps lighten the mood sometimes. It’s fun to let loose and have a good laugh!

What goals do you have for personal and professional development?

Denim Drive

I have personal development goals to continue educating myself on inclusivity and Down Syndrome awareness. My daughter received a Down Syndrome diagnosis at birth, so I am a passionate advocate.

Professionally, I would love to support other business units and expand my knowledge of Perficient. I would also like to potentially take on a leadership role.

Perficient believes in a strong work/life balance. What is one way you accomplish this?

Working remotely has allowed me to be more present for my family. Not having to commute to an office has given me the time back to spend with my family. I do enjoy going into the office sometimes because face-to-face interaction goes a long way.
