CodeSOD: The National Integration

The Daily WTF

Sergio works for a regional public administration. About a decade ago, the national government passed some laws or made some regulations, and then sent a software package to all the regional administrations. This software package was built to aggregate reports from the local databases into a single, unified, consistent interface on a national website. Of course, each regional group did things their own way, so the national software package needed to be customized to work.

Systems thinking and complexity

Net Objectives

Systems thinking tells us to attend to the relationships between the components of a system more than the components themselves. The challenge is as the number of components increase the number of relationships between them increases exponentially. Azure AD Connect and single domain

Spiceworks

Hello, I'm in the process of implementing Azure AD connect with our on-premise AD. We have different domains in both directories, local is internal.company.com, while O365 domain is office.company.com. I saw that the easiest way to implement the sync is adding a UPN suffix in our local AD, office.company.com and changing users UPN to office.company.com. Before I change everyone though (we are 25 Users), I would like to test with one test-user.

It's been a couple years since I've done anything resembling frontend web design or (dare I say) development, but the Python "Flask" framework as piqued my interest. I just mention this part because a.)

SharePoint Sync & NTFS Permissions

I've used the SharePoint Migration Tool to sync our file shares into SPO and have used the "preserve file permissions" option to preserve NTFS permissions.
