Twice is Nice – VxRail and PowerStore Awarded Top Honors

Dell Technologies receives two TechTarget Products of the Year awards for Dell VxRail and Dell PowerStore.

In the hyper-distributed world, the future will belong to the innovators equipped to adapt and thrive wherever new opportunities arise. That is why Dell Technologies will stop at nothing to serve our customers; connecting the people, applications and data that power your organization with trusted software-driven solutions and experiences, not managing infrastructure.

TechTarget’s Storage Magazine and SearchStorage have announced their 2021 Products of the Year awards. For the second straight year, Dell Technologies has been awarded this distinction in two categories – the only vendor to do so. Dell VxRail P-Series once again was named the Gold Award winner in the hyper-converged and composable infrastructures category, while Dell PowerStore 500 with PowerStoreOS 2.0 received the Bronze award in the disk and disk subsystem category.

Transform your IT environment across the VxRail Landscape

Dell VxRail is the first back-to-back Gold winner in its category – hyper-converged systems and composable infrastructures. TechTarget stated that “the judges liked the comprehensive nature of VxRail and its hardware and software upgrades. Key features include improved management and increased security.” TechTarget believes that VxRail “is one of the top HCI product lines available and with the help of VMware Cloud Foundation SDDC Manager, VxRail creates a nearly seamless link between the HCI environment and cloud-based resources.”

Since VxRail’s inception, we have been innovating to bring value across our customer’s entire distributed infrastructure landscape. Joint engineering innovation between Dell and VMware has led to a seamless, curated and optimized hyperconverged experience. A judge agreed stating “Dell’s VxRail continues to define the HCI category, with Dell and VMware continuing to drive the innovation forward.” This deep integration combined with extensive VxRail HCI System Software automation, full stack lifecycle management (LCM) and the performance of next-generation PowerEdge servers transforms your IT environment into a single, consistent, and automated ecosystem across core, edge and cloud.

Continuous innovation has also delivered support for modern and cloud native workloads. Dell’s DevOps-ready platforms based on VxRail support EKS-Anywhere, Google Anthos, SUSE Rancher, RedHat OpenShift, and of course, VMware Tanzu providing customers choice of Kubernetes orchestration platforms.

Our customers also recognize the value of VxRail as evidenced by customer testimonials and product reviews on Gartner Peer Insights, for which we received the Gartner Peer Insights Customers’ Choice for HCI designation.

Adapt to Any Future with Continuously Modern Storage

Storage Magazine 2021 Products of the Year award graphic, with star against a green and tan background. Dell PowerStore, introduced in 2020, quickly became the fastest-ramping new storage architecture in the history of Dell Technologies. With deployments in diverse industries and sales in over 90 countries, customers have been overwhelming in their response that PowerStore meets their needs and exceeds their expectations. The groundbreaking PowerStore family of all-flash data storage appliances transforms traditional and modern workloads with a unique continuously modern experience. It delivers revolutionary new data-centric, intelligent, and software-driven capabilities, such as AppsOn and Future-Proof that can help you to adapt to any future.

Continuously modern has been a design principle of PowerStore from the start. Every aspect of the platform has been engineered with solution longevity in mind, leveraging decades of experience building enterprise storage solutions for all kinds of customers. For example, in 2021 the PowerStore family expanded to include PowerStore 500 with PowerStoreOS 2.0, which was named to the Products of the Year in the Disk and Disk subsystems category. This brings new software-driven capabilities across the entire product line as well as new storage services that are ideal for remote or branch locations as well as edge environments. One judge said, “There’s a lot to like here in [terms of] increased performance and automation upgrades.”

Another winning point from a judge stated that the latest software release significantly boosts performance and workload consolidation. “It extracts greater performance [from the array] without changing the hardware. Self-tuning, smart tiering and AppsOn technology all [help] reduce the complexity of managing storage.”

In addition to the Storage Magazine award, CRN recognized PowerStore as the overall winner for the 2021 Tech Innovator Award for Storage-Midrange.

A winning combination

Of course, a win for our customers is the ability to easily bring the power and intelligence of VxRail and PowerStore together to maximize infrastructure agility and flexibility. Adding VxRail dynamic nodes utilizing PowerStore as primary storage to existing VxRail environments provides intelligent, automated compute together with enterprise performance and data services at scale under a common operational model.

Thank you again to our customers for the insights that help shape our future and for recognizing the value that Dell Technologies modern data center offerings bring- software-driven innovation layered with rich features and functionality, top-notch quality and reliability, and an industry-leading future-proof program. We look forward to what’s next in 2022.
