Copper , a digital banking service aimed at teens, has raised $29 million in Series A funding in a “preemptive” round led by Fiat Ventures. The investment comes just over seven months after the startup revealed it had raised $9 million in a seed round , and included participation from Panoramic Ventures, Insight Partners, Invesco Private Capital and “all existing investors,” according to the company.

Aqua’s Team Nautilus found a logical flaw in npm that allows threat actors to masquerade a malicious package as legitimate and trick unsuspecting developers into installing it. Up until recently, npm allowed adding anyone as a maintainer of the package without notifying these users or getting their consent. Since you could assign poisoned packages under any popular maintainers, we named this logical flaw and its implications “package planting”.

Jyoti Bansal has a pretty good track record when it comes to launching startups. He sold his first company , AppDynamics, for $3.7 billion the week it was supposed to go public in 2017. His latest one, Harness , announced a $230 million Series D today at a valuation of…wait for it…$3.7 billion. The fact the numbers are the same was not lost on Bansal, and in fact the Cisco deal closed at the end of March in 2017, almost exactly five years ago.

The founders of OwnID , Dor Shany and Rooly Eliezerov, previously founded Gigya, a startup that wanted to make it easier to help identify customers. They sold that startup to SAP for $350 million in 2017, but the idea of making it easy to log into websites without friction was always in the back of their minds, and they launched OwnID last year to help solve that particular problem.

BandLab , the Singapore-based app that lets users create and share music, announced today it has raised a $65 million Series B, at a post-money valuation of $315 million. The investment round was led by Vulcan Capital, with participation from Prosus, Caldecott Music Group and K3 Ventures. The company says that over 40 million creators currently use BandLab.
