Real life is not a spectator sport – it’s a participation sport, and in fact, I submit to you that it’s a full contact participation sport. I blame poor real world training. When black & white becomes permanently blurred so that everything reads as shades of grey, things can become dicey.

Leadership is a full-contact sport, and if you cannot address conflict in a healthy, productive fashion then you should not be in a leadership role. When I was in seminary (twice: master degree and doctoral degree) I received no formal training in dealing with conflict. If so, you likely have issues with conflict.

It makes me want to call myself something else as I fear non-sports related coaches and coaching is getting a bad name.
