Tandem was named the winner of a Bronze Stevie Award in the Achievement in Diversity & Inclusion category in The 20th Annual American Business Awards. The Achievement in Diversity & Inclusion category is new for 2022, recognizing organizations’ initiatives since 2020 to make their organization more diverse and inclusive for customers, employees, partners, suppliers, and/or other stakeholders.
The specific initiatives Tandem received recognition for are our work to publish public salary bands and our accountability to conduct biennial, independent pay equity audits. Creating transparency around salary helps even the playing field and ensures equity. Not only are we combating the wage gap, but we are also promising that no matter what background someone comes from, they are paid fairly for their work.
The American Business Awards is the premier accolade for excellence in U.S. business, honoring organizations of all sizes and industries. The 2022 competition received more than 3,700 nominations, so Tandem is honored to be recognized alongside other organizations driving positive change in their industry.
More than 230 professionals worldwide participated in the judging process to select this year’s Stevie Award winners. Speaking about Tandem’s nomination, one judge remarked, “Making salary bands public is truly unparalleled behavior and commitment to equity and fairness. In my experience, I have not known a company actually proceed to have independent audits to ensure transparency and accountability — this is a real step-out from the norm.”
