It would be good to get reliable ways to measure or estimate coupling, cohesion, change propagation, inter-module interactions, compliance with patterns or styles and so on. That implies a complete and accurate architecture model. But most importantly is to link the first 5 metrics to the KPI’s of the business for the software.
