Back in 2015, when we monitored approximately 200 customer devices, we started with 2 nodes in active/backup mode. IPv6 peerings are starting to outgrow a single node. It also allowed mirroring the setup for our IPv6 fabric. We started by setting the requirements, including that we: Should support both IPv4 and IPv6.
