OpenTofu , OpenTF’s fork of Hashicorp’s Terraform, has been backed by the Linux Foundation and adopted by several major enterprises. That may be the future of data storage, too: a startup has developed ceramic-coated tape with storage of up to 1 Petabyte per tape. A data center could easily house a Yottabyte’s worth of tapes.

In the software segment, IBM’s enterprise Linux unit, Red Hat, saw growth of 8%, while application operations saw the highest level of growth in the consulting segment, rising by 7%. This trend was further reflected in IBM’s infrastructure segment, which was down 3.7% IBM’s software and consulting revenue both rose 3% year over year.
