Sure it would…Likewise, if I drove up in a new Bentley, wearing a $3,000 custom tailored suit, sporting a fresh manicure, a GQ hair-cut, and with an attitude of arrogance, wouldn’t that also color your opinion of my ability? While I have a few swiss watches, my Timex Ironman is still my favorite.

In thinking of your example of sports teams, for example, is it possible that leaders can emerge at different times, for different purposes or tasks? The issue isn't the type of leadership structure utilized, but whether the leadership structure meshes with the talent, culture, context, etc. I Think Not.

I have heard Harsha Bhogle’s speech at IIMA on Sports and Excellence and he also shared some GREAT insights there. Ditto with sports. Again coming to an abstract from Harsha Bhogle’s speech on Achievers of Excellence, he said - Everytime I start a new day for live sports commentry, I keep a target to be better in quality than the last performace. Secondly as Tanmay said, Quality never has boundries, it’s always an ongoing improvement process.
